BENTLEY, ADA "JOY," 79, of Largo, died Sunday (April 11, 2004) at Oak Manor Nursing Center, Largo. She was born in Oklahoma City and came here in 1971 from Niagara Falls, N.Y. She was a retired long-distance telephone operator for Southern Bell. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clearwater, where she was active in the senior choir, the Ladies Guild and the Fellowship Club and she was a member of Gideons International. Survivors include her husband of 23 years, James; three daughters, Susan Lorenz, Largo, Elaine Barthel, Tampa, and Kathryn Henderson, Westminster, Md.; three sons, Robert Barthel, Niagara Falls, David Bentley, Harmony, N.C., and Steven Bentley, Albany, N.Y.; a sister, Marie Queen, Newcastle, Okla.; a brother, John Knuppel, Yukon, Okla.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. National Cremation Society, Largo.
