Uarda C. Gibson, 81, died at Beacon Manor Nursing Home Sunday after a long illness. She was born in Adel, Ga. December 24, 1904 to Sandy Garnett Coffee and Alva Charles Harris Coffee. Mrs. Gibson lived in Fort Myers most of her life and was preceded in death by her husband of many years, William Glenn Gibson. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a Dorcas Sunday School Class in Fort Myers and a past member of chapter A-1 P.E.O. of Fort Myers.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by a brother and sister-in-law Horace and Frances Coffee of Plant City, Fla., a sister Doris Myer of Avon Park, Fla., several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Mattie Belle Gibson of Fort Myers.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Harvey-Engelhardt Funeral Home, Colonial Chapel, 1600 Colonial Blvd. with Dr. Larry L. Lewis, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Myers or the American Heart Fund.
