LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Bertha Lanclos Blanchet, 85, who died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 17, 2005, in Maison de Lafayette.

Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery.

The Rev. Keith J. DeRouen, rector of The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will conduct the services.

A native and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Ms. Blanchet was a member of the Cathedral of St. John Catholic Community.

She enjoyed playing Bingo and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn Blanchet and his wife, Merita, of Pensacola, Fla., Michael Paul Blanchet and Randy Blanchet and Pamela, all of Lafayette; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Gloria Hargrave and her husband, Nolan, of Lafayette; and one brother, Harold Lanclos, of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Evia Bourque Lanclos; three brothers, Howard, Herbert and Clifton Lanclos; and two sisters, Hazel Jefcoat and Jean Chaisson.

A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and will continue from 8 a.m. Monday until time of services.

Pallbearers will be Glenn, Mike, Randy and Chris Blanchet, Wade Hargrave and Matt Chaisson.
