Lucinda was the daughter of John & Paradyne Morrical VanSkyock. She married Samuel S. Brenner, the son of Benjamin Franklin Brenner & Mariah Atkinson Brenner, on March 4, 1877. The couple were the parents of John Franklin, Charles, Clarence, and Bernice Fern Brenner (who they lost at a young age to typhoid fever). They raised their children in Portland and, later, moved to Albany, Indiana. Mrs. Brenner passed away, at home, from the effects of diabetes mellitus.

A.E. Cortner in charge. Burial will be made in the Green Park Cemetery at Portland. Mrs. Brenner is survived by the husband, Samuel; and three sons, Frank Brenner, of Dunkirk; Charles Brenner of Portland, and Clarence Brenner of Albany.
