Carolyn Walker Davidson, a resident of Westminster Village in Spanish Fort, Alabama, died on Wednesday, January 7th. She lived in Westminster's skilled care division, Bay Ridge, whose dedicated staff provided a loving, caring environment for her, as she struggled through the phases of Altziemer's.
Carolyn was born in Calvert, Alabama in 1925 and lived in Atmore for many years where she worked in The Bank of Atmore as a loan officer. Her banking career continued in Mobile, where she worked and retired at Merchant's Bank, now Region's.
She spent her retirement years in Fairhope, Alabama where she and her husband, Ret. Colonel Jim Davidson enjoyed golfing and bridge. After his death, Carolyn remained active in golf, six bridge clubs, entertaining, and maintaining her beautiful yard.
She will be loved and remembered by her many friends and her family members. They are her son, Alvin H. Farrar and his wife, Myriam of Luverne, Alabama and their three sons: Vann Farrar and Andrew Farrar of Tallahassee, and Walter Farrar of Chicago, Illinios; her daughter, Marty Pickett who resides in Lillian, Alabama and her two children: her daughter,Farrar and husband, Joachin Duro of Miami, Florida, and her son, Bradley Valine, also residing in Lillian. Carolyn was so proud of her five grandchildren , and delighted in her two great-grandchildren: Dailey and Sebastian Celada, the daughter and son of Farrar Celada-Duro of Miami. Carolyn will be missed also by her very dear friend, Marion Yonge of Citronelle, Alabama.
Carolyn remained very close to her sisters and brother throughout her life. Her two younger sisters are Betty Raley of Atmore and Mildred ("Bubba") Hansen of Fort Morgan, Alabama. Preceding her were her brother Dennis (Winnie) Walker, and her older sister, Edith Jones.
A memorial service is planned at a future date at the Calvert Methodist Church, where Carolyn's parents, Alvin and Margaret ( Forte) Walker are buried, as well as her brother Dennis.
There, her numerous nieces, nephews, sisters, children, grandchildren and close friends will celebrate the life of a lady who made all she met feel special.
