Mangum Star News, Oct. 10, 1963: Funeral services for Louis Bedford Burris, 45 year-old former Mangum resident, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Memorial Chapel of Johnson Mortuary.
Rev. Calvin C. Ussery, pastor of the First Baptist Church officiating, and interment was at Riverside cemetery.
Burris died Sunday at Campo, Colorado, after suddenly becoming ill.
Born September 18, 1918, in Granite, he was the son of Lemmie and Hattie (Martin) Burris. Living in and around Mangum most of his life, Burris was a carpenter by trade. He was married to Jewell of Ardmore and had three sons. He was preceded in death by his father L. J. Burris, in 1944, and a son, Donnie Mack, in 1951. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Louis and Larry Dean Burris of Ardmore, a grandson, Donnie Ray, his mother, Hattie, a brother, Delbert, and two sisters, Edith and Estelle, all of Mangum.
