Burris died Sunday at Campo, Colorado, after suddenly becoming ill.
Born September 18, 1918, in Granite, he was the son of Lemmie and Hattie (Martin) Burris. Living in and around Mangum most of his life, Burris was a carpenter by trade. He was married to Jewell of Ardmore and had three sons. He was preceded in death by his father L. J. Burris, in 1944, and a son, Donnie Mack, in 1951. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Louis and Larry Dean Burris of Ardmore, a grandson, Donnie Ray, his mother, Hattie, a brother, Delbert, and two sisters, Edith and Estelle, all of Mangum.
