WILLIAM KEETHLY (sic)
Died May 25, 1897

Uncle Bill Keethly died on Tuesday forenoon, and the body was buried in Woodlawn cemetery the following day. Rev. Kenan preached the sermon supplemented by remarks by Rev. Newcomb. Uncle Bill was a unique character a man of humane sentiments, blunt in address, but strictly honest in his dealings. He was loved by relatives and associates and respected by all. He was a Mexican war veteran, and the old soldiers of Pomona took charge of the funeral. He was a brother-in-law of the late Perry Fuller, of national fame; of G. W. Logan, of Quenemo; of J. M. Luce, of Centropolis; and of our former resident Sam Holmes, who now resides in Missouri. -- Pomona Enterprise.

William Keithly (sic), of Pomona, died Monday and was buried Tuesday. He was a brother of Mrs. G. W. Logan, and Mr. and Mrs. Logan attended the funeral. Mr. and Mrs. Logan can truly appreciate the sad truth of the saying, "Misfortunes never come singly," as ths is the third death of intimate ones in two weeks. They have the sympathy of all. ---Quenemo Republican.

(The deaths referred to are Mr. and Mrs. Logan's son, Edward Logan, in California on May 12th, and Mrs. Logan's great nephew, Edward Elder Fuller, in Ottawa on May 21st.)
