Frei, Frank, Saginaw, Michigan - Beloved husband, father and grandfather died Thursday, March 2, 1989, at Saginaw General Hospital at the age of 83. He was born July 3, 1905 in Germany. He moved to Caseville as a child. He married Mary Agnes Roberts of Bay Port Dec. 4, 1926. They moved to Saginaw in 1929 where he was employed by Grey Iron Foundry for 37 years, retiring in 1966. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary and two sons and one daughter, William Frei and his wife Nancy, Frankenmuth; Ronald Frei and his wife Beverly, Mount Pleasant; Elizabeth Mix and her husband James, Lansing; 11 grandchildren, Donald Sutherland, Saginaw, Gary and David Akersen, both of New Jersey; Mary Lawrence, Lansing, Robert Frei, Beaverton; Bruce Frei, Utica; Andrea Bowns, Bay City; Stephen Frei, Mt. Clemens; Brian Frei, Frankenmuth; Richard and James Frei, both of Mount Pleasant; 18 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter; also surviving are five sisters, Anna Fischler, Rocky River, Ohio; Martha Light, Reese; Mary Durkee, Sebewaing; Helen Deering, Bay Port; Pauline Cherry, Homosassa, Fla.; four sisters-in-law, Eleanor Frei, Cleveland, Ohio; Helen Arnevits, Bay Port; Dorothy Durkee, Ortonville, Alice Roberts, Detroit; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Julia Frei and three brothers, Paul, Joseph and George. He was a longtime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 82. He was an avid bowler and golfer winning the 1st Flight Championship in 1959. He was a member of the U.A.W.-C.I.O. Local No. 668. He attended the West Michigan Ave. United Methodist Church.
Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 6, 1989, at the Reitz-Herzberg Funeral Home, 1550 Midland Rd. between Gratiot and State. Rev. Richard Turner will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to West Michigan Ave. United Methodist Church.

There is a mistake in the obituary - he was not born in Germany, but in Neu Futog, Hungary (Újfutak, Bács-Bodrog, Hungary.) The place is now in Serbia and called Futtak, Serbia.
