The Gettysburg Times, Friday, August 27, 1993, page 2: Evelyn E. Altland, 76, of 2505 Carlisle Pike, Hanover, died Wednesday, August 25, at Hanover General Hospital.
She was the wife of George W. Altland.
Her first husband, the late Carroll Utz, died in 1966.
Born in Adams County, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Minerva Frost Weidner.
She retired as a nurse's aide from the Brethren Home in New Oxford.
She was a member of the Hanover Community Church, where she was a primary teacher in Sunday school. She was also a member of the Christian Women's Club of Hanover.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Carolyn C. Arentz and Jo Ann Kline, both of Hanover; a son, Ronald E. Utz of Deerfield Beach, Fla.; one stepson, Nevin E. Altland of Middletown; one sister, Erma Weigle of York Springs; eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday at the Hanover Community Church, with the Revs. Joseph Fissel and Harry Sellers, officiating. Interment will be in St. Bartholomew's Cemetery, near Hanover.
Friends may call at the church one hour before the service Monday afternoon.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the Visiting Nurse Association, 217 Broadway, Hanover, Pa. 17331.
Arrangements are in charge of Littles Funeral Home in Littlestown.
