According to his World War I Draft Registration of September 12, 1918 he was 37 years old, and was a self-employed farmer, living at Route 2, Darlington, Darlington County. He was described at medium height, stout build, blue-gray eyes, and gray hair. He was then married to Elizabeth Anna "Lizzie" Pipkin.
He was also married to Lizzie at the time of his death. A son, Ray Sansbury, was the "informant" of his passing.
Eugene was a son of Melon N. Sansbury and the former Sallie J. Suggs of Philadelphia, Darlington County. Both were born in South Carolina.
He died at age 74.
