OGDEN"James Brown Byrne, age 74, passed away on February 3, 2003, in Ogden, Utah. He was born April 20, 1928 in Piedmont, Wyoming to Lewis Phillip and Ruby Brown Byrne. He married LeaRae Hall on January 9, 1952 in Ogden, Utah.
He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was a great outdoor sportsman who loved hunting, camping and fishing. Some of his hobbies were woodworking, cooking and working with his hands. He was a great grandson of two prominent pioneers, Capt. James Brown, who he was named after, and Moses Byrne. He was the last of the Piedmont cowboys.
He was a wonderful husband, father and grandpa and loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, LeaRae, five sons and four daughters; Steven Warren (Vangie) Byrne of Willard, Gregory James (Ann) Byrne of West Haven, Kenney Lee (Louise) Byrne of Mountain View, WY, NayLeen (Scott) Robinson of Olive Branch, MS, Rick Lewis (Kathryn) Byrne of Plain City, Lori Lea (Bill) Kerivan of Ogden, Constance Rae Byrne of Janesville, WI, Dick Allen Byrne of Clearfield, Rachelle Ruby (Paul) Hunt of Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are 31 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one brother and sister, Lewis Dennis Byrne of Tacoma, WA and Mary Ellen Barker of Maricopa, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister, Joseph, Phil, Clarence, John and Edith.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to America First Credit Union.
