Richard C. Adam, 92, formerly of Reading, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30 at Palm Meadows Village, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
Mr. Adam was born in Reading on June 6, 1920, a son of the late Gertrude (Greiss) and Adam Adam.
He was the husband of (LIVING) Adam for 67 years.
Richard worked with the carpenters union as a tile setter at Ted Smith. He also co-owned Simmons Central Towing and had worked for the Reading School District in the maintenance department.
He served in the U.S. Army as a PFC in WW II, and a POW captured in Wingen during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a lifetime member of the Ivy Leaf Association and he loved golf and bowling.
Richard graduated from Reading High School in 1937.
