Legion Services for Morgan Ball, Park Resident Dies After Heart attack.
Services under American Legion auspices will be conducted at 2 pm tomorrow for Morgan Ball, prominent 47 year-old American Legionnaire , who died suddenly at 2 a.m. Wednesday at his home at 1465 Russell Avenue after a heart attack. Members of Lincoln Park post No. 67, of which he had been a member for 9 years, will conduct the services at the Nixon funeral chapel. 1582 Fort St., with the Rev. V. D. Longfield, pastor of the First Methodist Church, of which Mr. Ball was a member. Military rites will be held at the grave in Michigan Memorial Park. Mr. Ball who was a janitor at Lincoln Park high school, had been a resident of Lincoln Park for 14 years. He was born in Peoples, Kentucky and served with the United States Army for 15 years, being a sergeant in the infantry division. He was on recruiting duty during the World War and was stationed at Fort Wayne following the war. Surviving are his wife, Bessie ; three sons, Morgan Jr., Raymond and Earl; a sister Mrs C. C. Nelson , of Victory, Ky., and three brothers, William, of Peoples, Ky., Carter, of Knox Fork, Ky., and Kelly, of San Francisco, CA. Printed from The Lincoln Parker, April 14, 1939.
