Wm. Davey Passes Away
William Davey, a long time resident of this town died quite suddenly at his home this morning after a violent hemorrhage of the lungs. He had been at work in Walkerville, but Saturday last began to fell approaching illness; was up all day Sunday, but Monday kept his bed and began to grow worse until the end came.
Deceased was born in Lockport, New York State, in April 1859, and was the son of David and Mary Davey. He came with his parents to Essex about 1862 and lived with them on a farm they acquired in Colchester. When between 11 and 12 he began work in Kingsville, learned the trade of brick layer and mason, and about 32 years ago married Miss Osea Wright, daughter of William and Mary Wright, Colchester. He settled here and has lived here ever since. To the union were born the following sons and daughters: Aurelian and Mrs. Everett Staker, Kingsville; Mrs. Little, Detroit, Mrs. Wm. Scratch, Kingsville, and Fred and Everett at home. Mrs. Davey also survives. He also has one living sister, Mrs. Lewis Ferris (sic), Harrow; and four brothers, Benjamin, of Portland, Oregon; Ezra, Harrow; Jas., Windsor, and John, Leamington.
The funeral will take place from the family home, Division st., on Saturday at 2:30 p.m., interment in Greenhill cemetery.
