Paul E. Akers, 62, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2012. He was the beloved husband of the late Colleen E. (Smith) Akers.

Born in Fall River, he was a son of the late Laurence "Larry" V. and Rita C. (Bousquet) Akers. Paul was a Vietnam War US Navy veteran. He was a class of 1981 graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Paul worked as a project manager for Keane Inc. for many years. He enjoyed spending time on his boat, "Akers Away" sailing the coastal waters off Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Maine and Connecticut. Paul also enjoyed reading and geocaching using his handheld GPS.

He leaves two sons, Evan M. Akers and his fiancée Natalie Abernathy and Timothy P. Akers both of Seekonk; one brother, Kirby A. Akers of Swansea and many nieces, nephews, grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, awtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church,Seekonk. Interment with Military Honors followed at Mt.St.Marys Cemetery, Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in Paul's memory to Cure PSP, 30 East Padonia Rd., Suite 201, Timonium, MD 21093 will be appreciated.
