Mrs Caroline Froehlich wife of Mr Jacob F. Froehlich, who resides on Brushy Fork road near this city, died at 4:20 o'clock Wednesday morning after a brief illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Froehlich was taken ill on Christmas day and pneumonia set in a few days later. Physicians were called from this city and she apparently was unsuccessfully combating the disease until late Tuesday night when a change for the worse came and she sank rapidly until the end. Her maiden name was Schank. At the time of her death she was 58 years 2 months and 27 days. After reaching womanhood she was united in marriage to Jacob F Froehlich, who with four sons and 2 daughters survive her. They are Alois who resides on the families homestead, Andy and Edward of SKillman Ky. John Katie and Pauline, who are at the parental home. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers, Mrs Andy Rudolph, and Mr. Mike Schank who resides near this city and Mr. Frank Schank of Stanley Ky. Mrs Froehlich was a devote Catholic and a kindly christian lady. She was charitable in her relations with her neighbors and was well liked by all who knew her. The writer had occasion one time to partake of her hospitality when the two wayfarers he stopped at her door in a blizzard frozen to the bone and unable to go another step. She opened the door wide to us and seeing our predicament her mother heart prompted her to prepare for us a wholesome supper, although it was neither asked for nor expected. Her life has been one of kindness and service and she will be greatly missed in the community in which she lived. Funeral services were held this Friday morning at 8:00 at St Paul's church. Burial in St Mary's cemetery.
