Mrs. Ida Warren, 78, Passes Suddenly

Mrs. Ida Warren, age 78 years, passed away suddenly Friday night at 11:50 p.m. of a heart attack. She had been in good health and was considered very active, considering her age. She had been to town shopping that day. She retired at ten o'clock and at 11:30 she called her nephew, Almos Pitts, and told him that she was having difficulty in breathing. Almos and his mother, Mrs. Ina Pitts, came to her rescue and summoned a doctor but he was unable to save her life and she passed away 20 minutes later.

The funeral was held at the First Christian Church in Fairfax with Rev. Leon Kidd officiating, and burial was in the Fairfax Cemetery at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 29. Hunsaker Funeral Home was in charge.

Sarah Ida Pitts, the oldest daughter of William F. and Matilda Jane Pitts, was born February 12, 1876, at Louisburg, Missouri, and passed away Friday night, November 26, 1954, at the family home in Fairfax, Oklahoma, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 14 days.

On September 1, 1897, she was married to Jesse B. Warren, in Louisburg, Missouri, and to this union two children were born, namely Jesse Lee Warren, who preceded her in death on Dec. 13, 1941, and Rosa Morton, who resides in Sherman Oaks, California. Her husband preceded her in death oon June 23, 1951.

Ida was the oldest of five children: two brothers and two sisters. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death, namely: Amos Pitts, who passed away Jan. 31, 1936; Iva Manuel, Feb. 21, 1942; and Almos F. Pitts, June 23, 1946.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her daughter, Rosa Morton of Sherman Oaks, California; one sister, Mrs. Ina Pitts of Fairfax, Oklahoma; one granddaughter, Lucille Alban of Studio City, California; three great-grandsons: Gary, Gregory and Frank of Studio City, California; and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Warren united with the Christian Church at 21 years of age and continued steadfast in her faith until the end.
