Andrew J. Baker married Martha J. Milam in 1866 at Missouri. Marriage records show Andrew was born 1834 and Martha was born 1833. The couple moved to Young County, Texas by 1883.
died of flu in the influenza epidemic
Enlisted in Company E, Iowa 8th Cavalry Regiment on 15 Jun 1863. Promoted to Full 3rd Sergeant on 04 Sep 1864. Promoted to Full 2nd Sergeant on 30 Jan 1865. Mustered out on 13 Aug 1865 at Macon, GA.
Andrew J. Baker died at the home his daughter, Mrs. E. McReynolds of pneumonia in the Murray Community. His son-in-law and wife preceded him in death with pneumonia in the course of a few days.
Survived by one son - D.M. Baker; one daughter - G.A. Reeves.
Andrew J. Baker was preceded in death by two children who were born between 1866-1870 and died before 1900.
