Betty Caroline Clark Cryer
HUNTSVILLE – Betty Caroline Clark Cryer was born Oct. 17, 1935 in Livingston to Carl and Lorrain Clark and died on July 1, 2008 in Huntsville. Mrs. Cryer graduated from Livingston High School and then attended Sam Houston State Teachers College, earning her bachelor's degree in home economics education. She taught school for 39 years, 28 of those years at Huntsville High School. Preceding her in death were her parents and husband, Jed Cryer Sr., whom she married on May 26, 1956 in Livingston. She is survived by her son and daughterin- law, Jed and Susan Cryer of Huntsville; her two grandchildren, Cody and Kelsey, and her sister and husband, Janis and Ben Ogletree of Livingston and their family. She was known as a loving caring person with a heart of gold whose love for the Lord and her willingness to serve made her a wonderful Christian role model for everyone. She was also known as someone who loved her family and her close circle of friends who she hosted most every Friday night for dominoes and cards. Services were held Thursday, July 3, at Northside Baptist Church, with the Rev. Reagan Cooksey officiating. Interment followed in Magnolia Cemetery in San Jacinto County. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund at 1207 FM 980, Huntsville, TX 77320. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at www.shmfh.com. Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
