James Clayton Estill died May 5, 2009, in Okeechobee, Fla. He was born February 6, 1932, at Stamping Ground, Ky., to James Thomas Estill and Ida Barber Estill. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a retired Kentucky Department of Highway Design employee.

He is survived by his wife, Opal Roberts of Okeechobee, Fla.; sons, George Allen (Margaret) Estill, Richmond, VA, Ernest Clinton (Tanya) Estill; two grandchildren, Scott D. (Lucy) Estill and Lauren Estill, all of Frankfort. He is also survived by a brother, Charles Thomas Estill, Georgetown, Ky.; sisters Mattie Towles, Lexington, Ky., and Hazel Vickers, Stamping Ground, Ky.

He was preceded in death by brothers Clarence Estill, John V. Estill, George W. Estill and sisters, Amy Duval, Florence Curtis, Elan Riddle, Iness Riddle and Mary Lou Estill.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to your favorite charity. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
