Lois “Pete” A. Bennett, 62 of Grayling died August 23, 1997 at Mercy Hospital, Grayling. Mrs. Bennett was born in Cheboygan, Michigan on February 16, 1935 to Kenneth and Dorothy (Buddy) Ashton (both deceased) She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Russel and husband Wayde of Grayling two sons Randy Peter and wife, Selena of Lake Orion, Todd Peter and wife, Amy of Lake Orion four brothers Brian Ashton of Grayling, Larry Ashton of Grayling, Donald
Ashton, Reggie Ashton of Las Vegas, Nevada and five grandchildren. Mrs. Bennett moved back to Grayling 15 years ago from Lake Orion. She was employed as a teacher's aide in the Lake Orion School District.
Since moving back to Grayling, she was employed as a bartender and waitress at Spike's Keg of Nails before retiring about 2 years ago. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick Ashton and Darrell Ashton, one sister, Phyllis Holzman, and her parents. Kenneth and Dorothy (Buddy) Ashton. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Sorenson Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends.
