PROVO- Robert M Adamson, 62, died in his residence here early Tuesday morning after a short illness.
Mr Adamson was born Feb. 28, 1886, in Rock Springs, Wyo., a son of Mathew and Mary Mitchell Adamson. Following the death of his father in coal mining accident, he came, while a young boy, to Salt Lake City with his mother. He received his education in Salt Lake City schools and at an early age went to work with road construction crews. He worked as a foreman and asphalt finisher for 38 years.
In 1935 he came to Provo as an employee of the Lamph-Smith-Stevens Construction Co. and helped lay many of the present asphalt surfaced streets in Provo. He married Grace Lake Curtis on Sept. 25, 1936 in Provo. Of recent years he had worked as custodian during the winter months for a number of local institutions, including the Provo Elks Lodge, Provo City Library, Masonic Temple and the U S employment office.
Survivors include his widow; two stepsons, Merrill and Doyle Curtis, both of Salt Lake City; six stepdaughters, Mrs Tressie Price Clawson, Emery Co.; Mrs Aria Ward and Mrs Ireta Hutchings, Wattis; Mrs Laves Anderson, Mrs Berlee Anderson and Mrs Shirley Kemper, all of Provo; a grandson the couple had reared from infancy, Charles D Wyman, Provo, and a sister Mrs Jennie Evans, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2 pm in the Berg Mortuary Chapel under the direction of Rev. W J Campbell of the Assembly of God church.
Friends may call at the place of funeral Wednesday from 6-8 pm and Thursday prior to services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
