Married in Poughkeepsie, NY on October 4, 1882 to Rev., Dr. Maltbie Davenport Babcock. He would come to an early and tragic death while in Naples, Italy on May 18, 1901.
She published a book of her husbands poems after his death of which one is very popular titled "This is My Father's World".
