Obituary for James David "Jimmy" Adkins

Funeral services for James David "Jimmy" Adkins will be held at 4 p.m., Monday, Jan. 14, 2013 at the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 3 p.m.

Jimmy died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, in Albany at Phoebe North at the age 66. He was born in Cordele, Ga. to the late Leonard Alton Adkins, Sr. and the late Eloise Herrington Adkins. He was a member of the Methodist faith and had retired from Georgia Pacific in Vienna. He was an active member of the Cordele Evening Lions Club serving as president and secretary. He was very active in the arts and crafts part of the annual Watermelon Festival. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

He is survived by his wife: Pat Adkins of Cordele; his sons: Jeff Adkins and Jesse Adkins both of Cordele; his brother: Al Adkins of Cordele; an uncle: Otis Ulm of Leesburg and an aunt: Wynelle Jerde of Wisconsin.
