Rosa Elizabeth Hoy Benesh, 92, died Monday, June 26, 1995, in St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a long illness. Services: 2 p.m. Thursday, Brosh Funeral Home, Solon, where friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and after 9 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. Edward Gregory will officiate. Burial: Sand Hill Cemetery, near Tipton. Survivors include two daughters, Helen Rupe of Swisher and Mary Lou Kindler of Solon; nine grandchildren, Paulette Kmetz, Ronnie, Randy and Debi Benesh, Tami Connor, John, Geraldine and Richard Kindler and Brenda Bartling; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Elmer; an infant sister; and two brothers.
Born Dec. 19, 1902, near Tipton, Rosa was the daughter of John and Alice Lovell Hoy. She married George Benesh on Dec. 28, 1927, in Tipton. He died in 1982. Rosa was a homemaker and lived in Cedar and Johnson counties most of her life.
A memorial fund has been established.
