George Bernard Brandmeyer, 87, of Swansea, Illinois., born April 23, 1923, in Damiansville, Illinois., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at his sons residence in Carlyle Lake, Illinois.
George was a member and was very active with St. Mary's Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois. He was also a member of the South Side Park improvement. In his younger years he was a coach with the Catholic Youth Groups.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Clara, nee Ottensmier, Brandmeyer; parents, William and Wilamena, nee Rensing, Brandmeyer; brothers, Rev. William Brandmeyer, Tony Brandmeyer, Frank Brandmeyer, and Ollie Brandmeyer; and sisters, Henrietta Brandmeyer and Frances Wiegmann.
Surviving are his children, David (Diane) Brandmeyer of Carlyle Lake, Illinois., James (Donna) Brandmeyer of Collinsville, Illinois., Pastor Gerry Brandmeyer of Belleville, Illinois., and Mary Ann (Dennis) Boyd of St. Charles, Mo.; grandchildren, David (Tammy) Brandmeyer, Cheryl (Tom) Wright, Derek (Lori) Brandmeyer, Matthew Brandmeyer, Alicia (Wally) Hooten, Jennifer (Chad) Frauenfelder, Nathan Brandmeyer, Jessica (Bill) O'Connell, Michael J. Boyd and Michelle Boyd; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Austin, Ashleigh, Cameron, Jared, Kelsey, Shelby, Emma, Clare Marie, Collin, Briar, Kaleb, Cecilia, Regan, Ashlee, Brittany and Chloe; a sister, Marie (Edgar) Netemeyer; and sisters-in-law, Viola Brandmeyer, Dorris Brandmeyer and Lorrine Brandmeyer.

Funeral: A memorial mass will be said at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Belleville, Illinois., with Monsignor Bill McGee officiating. Per Mr. Brandmeyer's wish, his body was donated to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois.
