John D. Evans, age 75, of Jacksonville, Arkansas, passed away on Monday, September 15, 2014.

He was born August 15, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to the late Millam and Dorothea Evans. He served as a flight engineer in the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant after 21 years of service. He then went on and was a Flight Engineer Instructor in the Civil Service and retired after 20 years of service. He was a faithful member of Marshall Road Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Mark Evans. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Alma Evans; children Tracy Annette Reneau and her husband Steven; son Daniel Vance Evans and his wife Jennifer; four grandchildren: Tara Hicks, Shawna Williams, Kelsey Spoor, Austin Evans, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving dog Molly.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 am Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brother Toby Talley officiating.

Memorials may be made of the American Heart Association.
