Obituary for Sidney Claude Aston
Sidney Claude Aston was born on December 17, 1953 in Sayre, Oklahoma. He passed from this life on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at his home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.. His parents were Claud and Anne Aston. Sid served in the United States Army from June 1971 to June 1981. During his service, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant, and he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and was an Expert Rifleman.
On July 26, 2002, he married Starla Kinard in Van Buren, Arkansas. They made their home in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. He worked for Burford Corporation for many years. Sid’s adventurous spirit was enhanced by many travels throughout the course of his work. He had the opportunity to travel to England, Australia, France, China, Canada, Russia, and Romania.. From each of these places, he brought home interesting stories and souvenirs for his family and friends.
Sid was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he cherished his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was also fascinated by family history and spent countless hours doing genealogical research. Having grown up in rural Oklahoma, Sid loved spending time outdoors. He liked to garden, fish, and take pictures. He was very creative and talented in woodworking and making homemade knives. In recent years, he became very adept at winemaking.
Sid was a blessing to those who knew him. He is survived by his wife Starla of the home, his Children: his son Dustin Aston and his wife Kristi of Texas, his son Justin Carter of Holdenville, Oklahoma, his daughter Jeanette Aston Kelly and her husband John of Texas, his daughter Brandy Baldwin and her husband Danny of Wynnewood, and his daughter Shanon Norton and her husband Preston of Sulphur. Sid was also survived by his grandchildren: Coby Carter, Haleigh Aston, Rachel Norton, Levi Norton, Reagan Kelly, Kyler Baldwin, Luke Norton, and Xayda White; his Siblings: brother Glenn Bardwell and his wife Nancy of Blytheville, Arkansas, sister Jeanette Lamberson Lamberson of Coweta, Oklahoma, sister Lola Thompson and her husband Patrick of Freedom, Oklahoma, sister Ada Parks and her husband Breadon of Weatherford, Oklahoma, sister Leonna Milburn and her husband Paul of Canadian, Texas; his close nephew Brandon Parks and his wife Melissa and their children all of Wynnewood. Sid was preceded in death by his parents Claude and Anne as well as a brother, Robert Bardwell.

Services will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Eastern Gate Baptist Church east of Wynnewood, OK officiated by Rev. Lloyd Christensen. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Wynnewood, OK with military honors by the US Army. Services are under direction of DeArman Funeral Home of Wynnewood, OK.
