He was a 1976 graduate of Hays High School, where he lettered in football, and attended Fort Hays Sate University. He owned and operated Chad's Body Shop and was a salesman for M & M Supply. He enjoyed flying airplanes, classic cars and parody and spending time with his sons, grandchildren, family and friends.
He married Mary Acheson on Nov. 28, 1981, in Palco.
Survivors include two sons, Justin Basgall and wife, Nicolene, Zurich, and Aaron Basgall and wife, Tabitha, Rose Hill; two brothers, Stan Basgall and wife, Rebecca, Hays, and Neal Basgall and wife, Ha, Omaha, Neb.; a sister, Christine Basgall, Victoria; two grandchildren, Logan Basgall and Sabrina Basgall; and his former wife, Mary Acheson, Palco.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas of Myra Catholic Church, Hays; inurnment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Pfeifer. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to his family in care of the mortuary.
