John LeRoy Manley, 75, Kansas City, Mo., passed away, Friday, March 8, 2013 at the North Kansas City Hospital. Mr. Manley was born April 4, 1937, in Pittsburg, Ks., the son of John L. and Eva S. (Nelson) Manley. On March 9, 1981 John married Mary Manley in Raytown, Mo. She survives of the home. Mr. Manley had worked for the Wholesale Company as a Transportation Supervisor. He was a Mason and a member of the Alpha Masonic Lodge No. 659, in Kansas City, Mo., and a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by son Dennis Guess on November 20, 2012 and step-son, Kurtis Hill.
In addition to his wife Mary, John is survived by daughter Ellen (Rockey) Buchan of Weatherby Lake, Mo; son Richard (Nancy) Manley of Kansas City, Mo; two step-daughters, Mary Ann Finazzo of Kansas City, Mo., and Sheila Panigi of Flint, MI; step-son, Troy Hill of Kansas City, Mo; sister Kay Olmedo of Kansas City, Mo; brother Richard Manley of Junction City, AZ; twelve grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m., with memorial services starting at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2013, at the Polley Funeral Home, Excelsior Springs, Mo. Burial will be in the Polley Cemetery.
