Fleta L. Ables Granny A., age 96, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2008 at her home. She was born May 10, 1911 in Rossville, KS the daughter of Francis M. Stackhouse and Mary Ann McGuire Stackhouse. She married Ernest E. Ables on December 31, 1929 in Topeka, KS. He passed away August 10, 1961. She was a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation of Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by five sons, Elmer, Ernest, Earl, Charles and an infant, Edwin Ables. She is survived by two sons, Eugene Ables of Kansas City and Emmett Ables and his wife, Janice of Topeka; 21 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be Friday, May 2, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Park Cemetery. Granny will lie in state from noon 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home with family visitation from 7:00 8:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Services and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
