Andy Wilhelm Anderson was born April 4, 1887, in a sod house in Franklin County near Upland, Nebraska and died March 30, 1975, at the Kearney County community Hospital.

He was the eldest child in a family of seven sons and two daughters born to Anna Marie and Christ Anderson. His childhood was spent in Franklin County, but he lived all his adult life in the Norman vicinity where he was a farmer and was active in community affairs. He received a 55 year pin in the Odd Fellows Lodge, 50 year pin in the Rebekah Lodge, and 25 year pin in the Danish Brotherhood Lodge.

May 11, 1910 Andy was united in marriage with Lena Brown. To this union were born seven children: Lenora (Mrs. Benny Christensen), Lemon Grove, Calif.; Lena (Mrs. C.S. Copeland), South Gate, Calif.; Lyda Dressel, deceased; Andy Anderson, Jr. Norman; Lois (Mrs. Wilfred Stadler), Lucille (Mrs. Archie Johnson), and Leanna (Mrs. harry V. Brown), all of Minden. The family were members of the May Presbyterian Church, now inactive.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one daughter, and two grandchildren.

He is survived by the six children; 14 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson; and three brothers, Fred Anderson, Minden, Elmer Anderson, San Diego, Calif., and Clinton Anderson, Omaha.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 1, at the Layton Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joseph Barr officiating. Interment was in the Norman Cemetery.
