Louisa Ester "Louise" was born to Joseph L. and Hilda E. (Peterson) Metcalf.
Joseph was born 3 Nov 1900 in Sioux City, Iowa. He died 4 Jan 1985 in Mandan, N.D. The Metcalf line traces back to Tatterford, England through the immigrant, Michael Metcalf, (1587-1664).
Hilda Peterson was born 28 Dec 1900 at Downer, Clay, Minnesota to John Alfred Peterson and Esther Amalia Gabrielson. She died 17 Apr 1985 in Mandan, N.D.
Louisa's siblings were; Caroline (Corrine) Elizabeth, (b. 17 Jan 1924. Bay Field, WI.)(d. 1 Dec 2005, Randle, WA.) married Myron K. McPherson; Theodore Wallace (Ted), b. 18 Oct 1926 in N.D., d. 20 Dec 2010 in Idaho) married Alice; Jean Rose, (b.1928 in Clay, MN.) married Howard L. Allison; and Deloris Rae (b. abt. 1937 in N.D.) married Ardith Buck.
Louisa married a Mr. Fried near Minot, N.D. where she gave birth to a girl and then followed by a boy. That marriage ended and she needed to provide for her family. She worked at a Carny where she met George Giboo. They married briefly and she had another girl.
Finally, in 1951 she married the man she would live her life with, Adam Melvin Boehm. They moved briefly to California, looking for work. When no work was found, they moved to Washington state where they found work and settled for good.
Louise was a wonderful homemaker. She was a good cook, and sewed all the clothes for her children. She loved plants and flowers which was evident in her yard and in the house.
She kept in touch with her siblings back in Montana and S.D. either by phone or frequent letters and some visits.
After Adam retired they lived a happy life traveling the country in an RV. They made many friends on the road. They enjoyed their lives playing cards, dancing and while Adam drove Louisa creatively crocheted many items for gifts to family and friends. This happy lifestyle came to an end when Adam suffered a heart attack. From then on they stayed close to home, until finally Adam succumbed to another heart attack.
Left on her own Louise hung on caring for her flowers and home, (which was always spic and span), until she needed to find something smaller and not so strenuous. She moved from her mobile home in Lacey, to a senior apt in Olympia. She soon adapted and made friends at the nearby Senior Ctr, where she played cards regularly. She was very briefly at an Adult Family Home.
At age 93, she passed away quietly with all her family with her.

Louisa, You loved flowers but I can't remember your favorite so this one is mine. I was happy to hear that you had all your family with you when you parted this life. I will miss our telephone chats.|
