CLYDE J. BAUMANN

Clyde J. Baumann, 80, Buffalo City, died Thursday, Sept. 18, 1975 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Wabasha, MN following a one month illness.

A retired lockman for the US Corps of engineers, he was born Dec. 10, 1894 in Minneiska to Frank and Bertha (Heuer) Baumann. He married Viola Friederich Dec. 22, 1918 in Minnieska. A life-long area resident, he was a World War I veteran and a member of Hope United Church of Christ, Cochrane. He had retired in January 1955.

Survivors are two sons: Gaylord, Spencer, Iowa, and Clyde C., Alma; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton (Sylvia) Hess, Pepin, and Mrs. Melvin (Loretta) Hess, Cochrane; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles Baumann, Winona; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Dade, Wabasha. His wife died in 1971. One sister also died.

Funeral services were September 20 at 2 p.m. at Hope United Church of Christ, Cochrane, the Rev. Wilfred Burger officiating. Burial was in the Buffalo City Cemetery.
