Nancy Louise Anderson, 54, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012, of cancer. She was born January 21, 1958 in Loveland, CO.

Nancy grew up in Los Altos Hills, CA. She attended the University of California at San Diego, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and graduated with honors in Biophysics. She earned her teaching certificate at Weber State University.

She taught secondary math and science in the Ogden area at St. Joseph High School, Christian Heritage High School, and DaVinci Academy. Her favorite subjects were AP Physics, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics. Her students had a high degree of success on Advanced Placement exams. Many of her students pursued careers in science, math, and math education as a result of her mentoring. She loved her students and invested in their personal and spiritual lives. She was known for integrating a biblical world view and her love for Jesus into her classroom.

Nancy was a founding member of Wasatch Evangelical Free Church in Roy, where her husband was pastor. She served in many capacities, but most loved mentoring women, which she continued to do more recently as part of Alpine Church in West Haven.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, February 15 at 4:00 p.m., at Washington Heights Baptist Church, 1770 E. 6200 S., South Ogden. Friends may call at the church from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. A reception will follow the service.

Nancy donated her body to the University of Utah for educational and research purposes. Burial will be at the Roy City Cemetery.
