The stone at Bethesda Churchyard is a DAR War memorial commemorating Solomon Crocker's service in the Revolutionary War. It was erected June 29, 1978 by Mrs. Allene Mosley Cerney and Mrs. C.G. Shugart, members of the seventh generation of the Crocker family. Solomon Crocker gave a portion of his 997 acre land grant to build Bethesda Church on Bethesda Road in Spartanburg County, SC. Solomon is buried in the original old family graveyard near the church.
