Last Rites Held For George J. Alig

Requiem mass was held at 8:30 a. m. Saturday, Aug. 11, for George John Alig, who died suddenly at 5 p. m. at his home northwest of Okarche from a heart attack.

Father [Edmund] Von Elm officiated at the mass.

Internment was made in the Holy Trinity cemetery. George John Alig, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Alig, was born Nov. 13,1881 at Metamora, Ill., and came to Oklahoma with his parents Mar. 4, 1893, from Sedalia Mo.

He was married on January 23, 1906, to Katherine Ottis, in the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Okarche, and had since then made his home on a farm in Kingfisher county.

Mr. Alig is survived by his wife of the home; two sons, Lawrence of the home and John L. of Okarche; five daughters,
Mrs. Paul Wittrock and Mrs. George Stangl of Okarche, Mrs. Cletus Wittrock of Kingfisher, Misses Frances and Mary Agnes Alig of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mrs. C. W. Meistrel (sic) of Tulsa, and 13 grandchildren.

Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral were Mrs. C. W. Meistrel, Mrs. L. C. Warren and daughter Leona of Tulsa, Joe Rund and son George of Villa Grove, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. John Weller of Groom Tex., Matt Rund and daughters Mary Ann and Cecelia, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Laub, El Reno, Andrew Laub, Calumet, Mrs. Mary Dietrich and Mrs. Rosina Ottis, Bay City Tex., Kelly Ottis, West Columbia, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Grubb and daughter Norma, Mrs. P. C. McKemy and daughters Mrs. Ray Spowart and Mrs. Brandus, Ruth Mahan and Mrs. Eva Mitchell, all of Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Koetter and daughter Jeanie of Elgin, and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Uphoff of Sterling Colorado.
