Lula Mae Farr Alexander, 97, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, in Parkwest Medical Center.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, she was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church. She lived a wonderful 97 years and leaves a legacy of faith and love. She will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Alexander; her parents, Jasper Newton and Sarah Caroline Farr; and 10 brothers and sisters, Charlie, Ernest, Julius, Oscar, Dan, Newt, Luke, Mary, Martha and Nellie; a son-in-law, Kenneth Easter; and a granddaughter, Melissa Gillis.
Survivors include three children and spouses, Bennie and Mary T. Alexander, Margaret Easter and Patsy and Jim Brown; seven grandchildren, Butch Alexander, Tammy Fowler, Robin Leffew, Randy Easter, Ruth Ann Brummitt, Jeffery Jones and Keith Jones; 11 great-grandchildren, Zane and Jake Leffew, Ryan, Candy and Maggie Easter, Michelle Agee, Mike and Steven Gillis, Josh and Emma Brummitt and Brandi Crouse; and eight great-great-grandchildren, Rylee, Autym, Aby, Cole, Kylie, Madelyn, Brylee and Broady.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. Funeral service will follow in the chapel. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at Roane Memorial Gardens.
