Mrs.Harriet R.Swan,91,of Dubuque Health Care,formerly of 408 W. Fifth St.,died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept.3,1997,at the Finley Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Nativity Catholic Church,with burial in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ed Siegert-Al Didesch Colonial Funeral Home,390 N.Grandview Ave.,where there will be a parish scripture service at 4:30 p.m.
Mrs.Swan was a homemaker and formerly employed at Loras College until her retirement.
She was born on April 26,1906,in Dubuque, daughter of George and Mayme(Taken) Rowe. She married Gerald B."bob"Swan on Jan.12,1926,in Dubuque ;he died Aug.12,1946.
She was a member of Nativity Parish.She was greatly loved by her children and grandchildren.
She gave her life to helping others.
Surviving are a son ,George (Judy)Swan, of Dubuque;four daughters,Ruby (John)Linden, of Zwingle ,Iowa,and Betha "Betty" Albang,Jean Bleich and Jeanette Williams,all of Dubuque;and 20 grandchildren,39 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents;a grandson,Chris Linden;and two twin great-grandsons, Nicholas and Jared Bleich.The family requests no flowers.
A Harriet R.Swan Memorial Fund has been established.
