Raymond P. "Sonny" Ackley, found eternal peace Oct. 22, 2003 at age 73.

He is the beloved husband of Carmela and loving dad of Richard (Linda) of Barstow, Calif.; Ruth Ann, Milwaukee; Mary Therese, Waukesha; Greg (Kim) Duluth, Ga.; Cheryl Ann, David, Carol Jean of Hartland; and the late Tina Marie. He is the cherished grandfather of Brianna Lynn, Cordova, S.C.; David Paul, Duluth, Ga.; and the dear brother of Arlene (George) Matousek, Milwaukee; and Janet Davis, Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ray belonged to the American Legion Post #294. He was a past post commander, belonged to VFW Post 5158, 40 ET 8 and was a life member of both the Veterans of Foreign War and disabled American Veterans. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27, 2003 at St. Charles Catholic Church, 526 Renson Road, Hartland. A service will be held following the visitation Monday. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at St Charles Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wisconsin Cancer Association or Pro-Health Hospice are preferred.

Church and Chapel Funeral Home, 524-0659, is serving the family.
