Viewing was at the Hardesty Funeral Home, Gambrills, and a funeral service was held at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Odenton. Interment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Mrs. Ogden was born on Aug. 1, 1916, in Greene Township, Mercer County, Ill., to Harry and Sylvia Riggens. On Aug. 22, 1944, Dorothy married Samuel M. Ogden of Moline. After their marriage, they moved to San Francisco, Calif., where Samuel worked as an electrician on U.S. Navy submarines, and Dorothy worked as a telephone operator. After World War II, they returned to Moline.
Mrs. Ogden was a member of the Memorial Heights Methodist Church, Rock Island, and the King's Daughters Isabella Charles Davis Circle for over 50 years. She moved to Odenton in 1996, after the death of her husband in 1995. She was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Odenton.
Mrs. Ogden was also preceded in death by a brother, Russell Riggens; and a sister, Marjorie Riggens. Surviving are her daughters, Sylvia Boyer, Silvis, and Rebecca Petersen, Odenton; four grandchildren, Anthony, Melissa, Ingrid and Matthew; and nine great-grandchildren.
