Ida Mabel Marsh Adams, 100, a resident of the Nestorville community, departed this life at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2004, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 7, 1903, at Nestorville, the daughter of the late Samuel L. and Emma J. Sturm Marsh.
She was united in marriage to John Q. Adams, who preceded her in death on July 25, 1963.
Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, John R. Adams and wife, Martha, of Nestorville, Paul D. Adams of Nestorville, Jack D. Adams and wife, Lois, of Grafton; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Nestor, Clara Shaffer, Blanche Auvil and Macel Miller; two brothers, Forrest "Doc" Marsh and Creed Marsh; one daughter, Dorothy Love; one grandson and one great-grandson.
She enjoyed the outdoors in gardening and farming, and took great pride in her flower gardens.
She was a United Methodist by faith.
Friends will be received at the Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Johnson and the Rev. Dwight Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in the Nestorville Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home service.
