Wanda Burnedith Baker daughter of the late Betty Foster Osmon and David Earl Osmon was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on April 27, 1926. She departed this life at her residence in Ellington, on March 8, 2013 at the age of 86.
On May 20, 1944 in Dallas, Texas, Wanda was united in marriage to Robert Burle Baker and to this loving union eight children were born. Robert preceded her in death on May 23, 1969. Wanda was a member of the Ellington First Baptist Church and the Red Hatters. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, and taking care of her home. Wanda's greatest joy was family gatherings; she loved the lively talking and watching the children playing together.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Pat Baker, one grandchild, one brother, Leonard Osmon and one sister, Ruby Gay.
Wanda is survived by two sons, Ed Baker and wife Brenda of Ellsinore, MO, Sam Baker and wife Pam of Columbia, MO, five daughters, Shirley Davis and husband Larry of Afton, IA, Joan Bewley and husband Bob of Ellsinore, MO, Kathy Monger and husband Johnny of Clever, MO, Missy Jacques and husband Scott of West Plains, MO, Betsy Swyres and husband Wayne of Ellington, MO, 29 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren, and one sister, June Barnes of Depew, OK. Wanda will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
