Joseph C. Beard Sr. Battle Creek, 71, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2009 at his home. Joe is survived by his children, James Martin Beard of Bradenton, FL, Laura L. Smith of Battle Creek and Nanette Norman of Oroville, CA. He was preceded in death by his son Master Sergeant Joseph C. Beard Jr. No visitation is scheduled. To honor Joe's wishes a funeral service will be held at the family gravesite in Hick's Cemetery at 1:00pm, Wednesday, June 3, 2009. Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of choice. Arrangements are by Royal Funeral Home.
