Margaret M. Abel, 77, of Abilene, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at Village Manor in Abilene. She was born March 30, 1932, in Abilene, the daughter of Henry and Alta Butler. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth and attended the Abilene schools.On Jan. 25, 1950, she married Eugene A. Abel in Abilene. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 2006. She was a daycare provider for 35 years. She loved children and helped raise many wonderful people. She and her husband Gene served the concessions at the Reynolds, Mugler and Geist Auction Service. She loved cooking and crocheting.?She was a member of the Abilene United Brethren Church. A devoted Christian, she loved her church and church family.Survivors include her daughter, Annette Reynolds and husband Randy of Abilene; two grandchildren, Jared Reynolds and wife Cory of Columbus,?Neb. and Nicholas Reynolds and fiancé Christine Caplinger of Manhattan; three great-granddaughters, Kat-herin, Alixandria and Isabel Reynolds, all of Columbus, Neb.; two sisters, Alta Mae Schmidt of Hanover, Ill. and Betty LaClair of St.?Paul, Minn, and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Clarence, Robert, Ernest, Lloyd France and one sister, Bonnie Gilbert.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday June 17, at the United Brethren Church with the Rev. Robert Frasier officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home.
