Dorothy Christensen Adams, 87 of Soda Springs, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2001 at the Caribou Memorial Living Center. She was born Jan. 29, 1913 at Lago,Caribou,Idaho the daughter of Henry and Emma Jensen Christensen.
She married Evan Adams March 31, 1934 in Grace. Mr. Adams passed away Jan. 20, 1987.
Dorothy was a life-long resident of Grace and Soda Springs where she had taught in both school districts for over 30 years. She taught English and literature and was also the drill team advisor for both Grace and Soda High schools. She had received her BA degree at Idaho State University.
She was a member of the Soda Springs LDS 4th Ward. She had been active in her community through volunteer service including the Caribou Memorial Pink Ladies Auxiliary, senior citizens, commodities distribution, vaccination programs and many others.
Dorothy especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings, visiting with friends, helping others, traveling, Jazz basketball and reading.
She is survived by two sons, Von Adams, Blackfoot, and Barry Adams, Farmington, New Mexico; three grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, DeVona Whitehead, Pocatello, and Margie Lloyd, Hemet;' California. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dean, Gilbert, and Kermit, and a sister "Joe."
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, May 24, at 12 noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel in Soda Springs. Friends may call Wednesday evening at the Sims Funeral Home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on 'Thursday at the Hooper Ward Chapel from 10:30 a.m. to
11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Grace Cemetery: Services are under the direction of the Siims Funeral Home.
