He was drafted in the US Army in 1917, but chose to enlist in the US Marines. He served in France during WW I and was wounded, he was sent to Haiti for recuperation.
He was married to Elizabeth Parker Morrissey.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Ruth C Churay/husband Frank of N Wilmington, DE (and their 2 dau), Sara Mattson/Fred of Kennett Sq, PA (and their son/dau) of Kennett Sq, PA, and dau Dorothy Hamilton/Francis,
of Wilmington, DE (and their son). His step children includes: Anne Morrissey, Reba Morrissey Pyle, Esther Morrissey, George Morrissey of Kennett Sq, PA,
Preston Morissey of NY and their children.
Also survived by half brother, Thomas Kelly of Kennett Sq,
PA.
