The death angel has come into our home and took our dear brother home. Mr. Archibald Edelbert Forbes. He was born in Cascade, Sheboygan county, Wisconsin, July 9, 1852, age 78 years, three months and 21 days, and died November 1, 1922. He was an old resident of Omro, Winnebago county, Wisconsin. His father was an old pioneer of Omro, Wisconsin.
Mr. Forbes was stricken with dengue about September 1, and a week later he had a relapse and lived two weeks, Dengue fever and complications set in. He leaves to mourn him a loving wife, Mrs. Adelaide E. Forbes, and four children, Mrs. Hattie C. Wisdom, Mr. George Forbes, Miss Addie Forbes and William Forbes, three grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Frank Seeber of Antigo, Wisconsin and Mrs. Mary Dildine of Moutnain, Wisconsin.
He was a good citizen of Jefferson, Texas where he made his home for the twelve years, and was loved and respected by all who knew him.
He was buried in the Pope City cemetery, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J.W. Corpier.
A precious one from us has gone; a voice we loved is stilled; a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled. God in his wisdom had recalled the boon that love has given, also the body slumbers; here the soul is safe in heaven.
