Margaret Walter was the daughter of Richard Walter and his wife Margaret, and was baptised at Nayland, Suffolk, England, on September 8, 1564. She married John Barker on June 29, 1585 at Stoke Nayland. He was probably born in 1563 in Nayland, Suffolk, and baptised there on April 30, 1563. His parents were John Barker and Margaret Maull or Mawle. His father was a cloth maker, and John probably was too. Margaret and john had eleven children baptised at Nayland. John died in March of 1617 and was buried at Nayland on March 10, apparently without a will. Margaret then married a man named Munnings of Colne Engaine, Essex. The date or location of Margaret's death has not been found.
Many years later, Margaret's daughter Mary and her husband Isaac Stearns, gave a letter of attorney to Thomas Gilson, who was traveling from Massachusetts to England, in an attempt to recover a bond of L5 given by Munnings when he married Margaret. It is unknown if they ever recovered the money.
