The remains of Thomas M. Hurst, of Baltimore, a former resident of Mathews, who was killed in an automobile accident in that city on Saturday, were brought to the county on Monday for funeral and interment.
The accident occured at a railroad crossing when the safety gates were let down on the car in which Mr. Hurst was riding, and almost immediately a fast approaching train struck the car and Mr. Hurst was killed instantly. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. H. Hurst, by Rev. Witt and interment was in the Gwynn's Island cemetery.
Mr. Hurst is survived by his widow, his parents, four brothers and two sisters. He was 35 years old and a member of Gwynns Island M. E. Church.
